Buyers guide

The most important things to look for when buying a twin stroller is lightweight, easiness to fold, and easiness to maneuver. We also recommend buying one that comes with car seats. Itll be one less item youll have to hunt for. But of course, this is optional.

Important Specifications

Having a lightweight stroller is more important than you may think. Each time you reach a curb, a flight of stairs, or a car, youre going to need to lift the stroller.

And no matter how strong you think you are, youre going to get tired from all the lifting. Finding a stroller that is lightweight is incredibly important.

Easy to fold

In your hunt for a stroller, look for one with a frame thats easy to fold. Youre most likely going to be putting it in and taking it out of the car regularly, so the easier it is to fold, the better. This will make the stroller more portable.

Easy to maneuver

This one should be a given. Because your stroller will go most places with you, youre going to want to get one thats easy to maneuver. Whether you live in the city or in the suburbs, maneuverability is key.

Comes with a car seat

A double stroller that comes with a car seat is not essential. This is just something to make your life easier because we know how stressful buying a twin stroller and buying a car seat can be. So, why not kill two birds with one stone and buy both at the same time! Itll save you time, energy, and will give you a calmer state of mind.

Types of double strollers

Tandem strollers

These strollers have one seat directly behind the other. The best thing about these strollers is that they are the same width as single strollers, making it easier to fit through doorframes, store aisles, elevator doors, etc.

But, all good things have their flaws, and tandem strollers are no exception. They are usually pretty long, making it more of a challenge to steer. Also, because one seat is directly behind the other, the front seat usually wont recline without limiting the space of the child in the back.

Side-by-side strollers

Side-by-side strollers are pretty self-explanatory. They have two seats positioned side-by-side. Theyre the same length as a single stroller, making them easier to maneuver. And, if your child in the front seat wants to recline, your child in the back wont lose any space as a result.

The downside of these strollers, however, is that theyre two-strollers wide, making it much harder to fit through doorways or other narrow spaces. So while theyre easier to maneuver, youll have a harder time getting them through tight spaces.

Double jogger strollers

Double jogger strollers are similar to side-by-side strollersyour children are sitting next to each other. But unlike side-by-side strollers, double joggers only have 3 wheels; one in the front, two in the back, with either rear or all wheel suspension.

These are ideal for physically active parents. If youre planning on taking your little ones on a long walks or runs, youre going to want to get a double jogger. But again, as all good things have its flaws, double joggers are bulky and long, making it more challenging to maneuver.

Incline strollers

These strollers are similar to tandem strollers, but instead of having one seat directly in front of the other at the same height, incline strollers usually place the back seat above the front.

These strollers, like tandems, are narrow, meaning they can fit in narrow spaces, but because of their long lengths, they too can be harder to navigate.

Our First Choice: Baby Trend Tandem Stroller Travel System

Overall Rating
Our Grand Score :  4.6 out of 5 stars

Our top choice for a twin baby stroller with a car seat is the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Tandem Stroller + Car Seats (2) Travel System.

This is a great stroller/ car seat combination for your twins. It comes with two car seats.

But if you dont need both, Baby Trend gives you the option to purchase the stroller with one car seat.

This stroller is equipped with a 5-point harness and a heigh-adjustable seat back to ensure a snug and secure fit for your child.

In addition, for your convenience, the harness has a simple one-hand adjustment with a push button release, cup holders, a large storage basket under the seats, and a comfortable carrying handle.

Folding the stroller is easy and quick, and only requires one hand to do so.

Why We Love It

The best thing about this product is the price. While $339.99 may sound expensive, this is on the low side for strollers with car seats included.

It comes with two car seats and is suitable for infants weighing up to 35 pounds and stretching 30 inches long. It also has a removable rear seat that can become a standing platform for one of your children.

The Downside

The cons of this stroller that its pretty heavy, weighing 76.9 pounds. And because its a tandem, its length makes its a bit harder to maneuver.

Ease of Use:4 out of 5 stars (4.0 / 5)
Average:4.7 out of 5 stars (4.7 / 5)

Our 2nd Choice: Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System

Overall Rating
Our Grand Score :  4.1 out of 5 stars

Our second choice is the Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System, Stallion. This is considered to be an incline stroller because the back seat is higher than the front.

This stroller is unique because it converts from a single to double, attaching the car seat onto the stroller frame. Unfortunately, it only comes with one car seat, but its compatible to fit others.

This stroller is equipped with an extra large storage basket that expands to two feet long. The seat has a 5-point harness to make sure your child doesnt go anywhere when seated. It has large wheels, a large canopy, and an adjustable handle with 3 positions.

The Advantages

We love this stroller because its very light, weighing only 31.1 pounds altogether. Its also pretty affordable, selling for $371.61.

It has 22 configurations that accommodates different heights, seat back adjustments, and rear or forward facing seats, and can hold children from birth to 6 years old, meaning it can be used as your children grow. Its also easy to fold and stands on its own when in the folded position.

The Disadvantages

The downside of this stroller/car seat combination is that it only comes with one infant car seat. The whole point of purchasing a stroller with two car seats is to make your life easier, so you dont have to purchase them separately.

And because the second seat, the car seat, attaches directly to the frame, its less sturdy than if it was a part of the stroller frame itself. Its also long, making its harder to steer.

Evenflo Pivot X Scores
Safety:3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)
Affordability:5 out of 5 stars (5.0 / 5)
Ease of Use:4 out of 5 stars (4.0 / 5)
Average:4.2 out of 5 stars (4.2 / 5)

Our 3rd Choice: Chicco Cortina Together Travel System

Overall Rating
Our Grand Score :  3.5 out of 5 stars

Our third and final choice is the Chicco Cortina Together Travel System Double Stroller + KeyFit Infant Car Seats.

It comes with two car seats, but like Baby Trends stroller, you have the option of purchasing just one.

Keep in mind, however, that the stroller is only compatible with their brand of car seats, KeyFit Car Seats.

Its equipped with a 5-point seat harness, front locking swivel wheels, all wheel suspension, a storage basket, and adjustable canopies. It has a one-hand fold, aluminum frame, making it sturdy.

What We Love About It

The best thing about this product is that its KeyFit infant car seats are rated #1 in infant car seats in America for babies weighing 4 to 22 pounds.

When driving, you can be sure that your children will be in the safest car seats on the market.

Why We Hate It

There are a few reasons why this stroller is last on our list. First, its expensive, going for $689.99. So if youre on a budget, this may not be the stroller to buy. Second, its very heavy.

The stroller and the two car seats together weigh 86 pounds. Third, even though its not significantly more heavy than Baby Trends stroller, when combining its length with its weight, its much more difficult to navigate.
